Ben Franklin STEM Academy is a school of character. A different character trait is taught each month. Students are then chosen by their teacher to be recognized at our monthly Character Kid assembly for being good examples of the trait.
Ben Franklin offers students the opportunity to be Character leaders in their school by being a part of the Character Club. The Character Cub is made up of students from 5th and 6th grades who have been recommended for participation by their teacher and have gone through the application process. The Character Club leads a variety of activities and events throughout the school year which includes monthly Character skits, Red Ribbon Week activities, and a Spring "Keep Muskogee Beautiful" service project along with many other activities.
One sixth grade boy and girl are chosen as the Ben Franklin STEM Academy students of Character and honored at the Spring Character Banquet each year.
Selected Character members are asked to participate in summer Character Camp at Camp Tulakogee each summer. These students spend two days learning about leadership, while enjoying such activities as swimming, a ropes course, and a Character-themed talent show.
BFSA is proud to have so many students that participate. If you have any service projects that you would like for us to participate in, please do not hesitate to email: firstname.lastname@example.org
